The Man Behind the Markets

Being a show about prediction markets, I thought it might be appropriate to have our first guest be the guy responsible for overseeing them.

Trump appointed him as Chair of the CFTC in December. All US prediction markets fall under his purview, as well as couple of other minor things like hundreds of trillions of dollars in derivatives.

I tried to ask him about every criticism that I hear about these markets. What about insider trading? War and assassination markets? Is this just gambling? Do they provide a public good? Why can’t states ban these markets?

It was a great conversation. Also, he’s an Eagles fan so you know he’s a good person.
